Coaches Reference: Ryan has a great attitude to badminton, always turning up to training and giving 100% and always looking to do more training to improve his game. He attends any camps that he is invited to and is keen to do as much training as possible. He has a good understanding of badminton and is mature enough to identify strengths and weaknesses which will help him for the future in this game. He shows excellent commitment to the sport.
Ryan has a very good technique and with good over-head technique, it allows him to have a good shot selection which makes it hard for his opponent. He has a height advantage which allows him to get good angles from the shuttle and makes him very powerful when on the attack. He has played his first international this season and medalled in team and individual events. He is showing excellent promise for the future.
Ryan was supported by the programme from 2010-2011 and now receives support from the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme at Loughborough University.
