Wheelchair Badminton international and Sports Village athlete Gobi Ranganathan returned from his trip to the 4 Nations Disabled Badminton Championships in Ireland with 3 Gold medals.
Gobi came away from Dublin having completed an unprecedented Badminton Hat-Trick. He retained the Men’s Singles title, regained the Men’s Doubles Title he won last year, and won the Mixed Doubles title for the first time.
Gobi was extremely happy with his success and commented “Overall, this was the most successful tournament since I’ve been competing. Even I didn’t envisage winning 3 gold medals. The tournament was the last for the year and has capped off what has been an experience filled and successful year. As always, my performance and results couldn’t have been achieved without everyone’s help and support at Hertfordshire Sports Village.”
Gobi trains every week in the Badminton Hall at Hertfordshire Sports Village on the de Havilland Campus where he accesses the facilities free of charge.
