Sports Village members joined the Gym and Membership team on Thursday 8 December at the 2011 Members Christmas Party!
The night was a huge success with around 100 members brushing off their dancing shoes and joining the team for a night full of good food, drink, quiz and dancing!
The 2011 member's party took place in partnership with the Ramada Hatfield. who very kindly provided the wonderful venue, buffet and drinks. Tickets to the member's event of the year cost £10 and all proceeds went to one of three nominated charities: the UH Sports Scholarship Fund, Macmillan Cancer Support or The Willow Foundation. Over £1000 was raised for these three charities. Director of Sport, Nick Brooking auctioned 4 tickets to see the Saracen's play at Wembley the follow weekend and raised a further £150!
From the moment the doors opened at 7pm there was an exciting atmosphere. With a great mixture of students through to members of the Get Active programme, the evening was non-stop fun! The festive quiz emphasised the great atmosphere as tables of 10 battled against each other and then everyone gathered on the dance floor and danced away in to the night!
Clare Ruocco, member of the Sports Village since 2008 was on the winning table for the quiz and had a great time and is already looking forward to the next member's party. "Thank you so much for such a FAB time last night, you certainly know how to put on a bit of a doo and show everyone a good time and that's exactly what everyone did!!!! When is the next one????!!!!"
