By developing and honing the way in which messages are sent from our brain to our limbs, the brain and body learn to work together much more efficiently, through SAQ training.
Like any other physical attribute, speed, agility and quickness can be trained and improved through repetition and overload. Performance Hertfordshire offer a range of training methods that aim to improve an athlete’s mind/body connection so that initial movement - whether lateral, linear or vertical is automatic, explosive and precise.
Depending on their emphasis, the drills we employ are designed either to develop absolute speed and agility or to develop these attributes under the conditions of fatigue that athletes experience, whether it’s a match, round or set. Much like the sports themselves, sports-specific drills may look like obstacle course with turns, back pedaling, sprints, zigzag runs and swerves through cones. SAQ training helps a boxer make the decisive final blow or a netballer recover a loose ball.
The Performance Hertfordshire team has a fantastic reputation within key sports in developing speed & agility training, including
- Batchwood High Performance Tennis Centre.
- England Women's Rugby U19.
- Mavericks Netball.
- England Womens Football.
- England Squash.
- England Badminton.
