When you contact us using the "Contact Us" form on the site, we collect your name, email address and the other contact details that you provide us with. This information is used by us to respond to your enquiry and provide you with information relevant to you.

At this time, you have the option to “opt-in” to receiving mail shots promoting the products and services we offer. We also ask if you want to “opt-in” to receive other promotional information from Hertfordshire Sports Village by email or SMS.

Membership

When you apply to become a member, you will provide us with some personal information for the purposes of managing your membership with us and enable us to provide you with the services you have requested. This information includes; name, postal address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, Car registration no., basic medical details.

Covid-19

Each time you scan your ID card to enter the premises, basic data is collected to verify your membership status and allow you entry. This data may be used for the purposes of contact tracing in the event of a case of Covid-19 linked to the HSV.

Other information that we collect

When you visit our website site, we log the IP address of the machine you used to access our site with. The IP address is a unique number that is used on the Internet to identify a unique computer for the purposes of allowing computers to communicate with each other.

No features of our site require Cookies in order to function (a Cookie is a small piece of information that is placed on your computer and is used to differentiate you from other users accessing our site).

We may also collect information on the type of web browser that you are using, the operating system that your computer uses, and (where applicable) the link that you followed to get to our website. We use this information to produce general statistics about the numbers of unique visitors to the site and what software they use. On request, we may need to share basic contact details with the NHS Test and Trace service in the event of a case of Covid-19 linked to the HSV. GDPR allows us to share contact information of our staff, customers and visitors and share it with NHS Test and Trace to help minimise the transmission of COVID-19 and support public health and safety.

Security

Hertfordshire Sports Village takes the security of any information we hold very seriously and will always implement security measures that are in line with, or exceed, current best practices and recommendations.

Where necessary, and in common with other websites, we use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to ensure that information provided to us is not visible to anybody else when in transit between your computer and our servers.
