Futsal, the up and coming FIFA version of 5-a-side football, is a sport that requires players to be quick-thinking within the fast-paced environment of the game; which, when combined with high levels of technical skills from all players, creates an intense, strategic game. The University’s Club of the Year for 2015-16 and 2016-17 have three sides (two men’s and one women’s) competing in BUCS, with the men’s first team playing in the South Premier. The club as a whole is looking for individuals that will improve, expand and develop the teams to help them compete this season.
The Futsal Club compete in the National University League and Cup programmes managed by BUCS:
Men’s 1st: South Premier and Championship
Men’s 2nd: South Eastern Tier 3A and Conference Cup
Women’s 1st: South Eastern Tier 1A and Trophy
The club also participate in the Hertfordshire County FA Futsal Fives league.
Trials and taster sessions will begin during the first week of term after fresher's week.
You must pre-register to attend these at either the Athletic Union Sports Fair or the SU Fresher’s Fair where you will be given further information.
All members must have signed up to the Club before their first fixture, whichever comes first.
The Futsal Club is coached by experienced and qualified coaches.
