Tuesday 20 May, 2025

The University of Hertfordshire’s Women’s Football programme has a proud history of competing at the highest level of university sport. With three BUCS Premier South League titles and two appearances in the BUCS National Championship Final, Herts has consistently proven itself among the elite in UK university football.

More than just a record of success, the programme is known for its long-standing commitment to player development, providing a clear pathway from grassroots football to the professional game. Herts athletes have benefitted from strong club links and progression opportunities, including the chance to represent English Universities and GB Students.

Players train and compete in top-class match day and training facilities, and are supported by a dedicated Team Sports Therapist offering massage, strapping, and pitch-side care. Every athlete in the programme also receives access to an extensive support system, including free Health & Fitness membership, Strength & Conditioning, Physiotherapy, lifestyle support, and academic flexibility—ensuring they can excel both on the pitch and in the classroom.

Talented footballers may also have the chance to represent the Herts Women’s Futsal team, adding another dimension to their sporting development, and can apply for a Herts Sports Scholarship to support their journey as a high-performing student-athlete.

With a legacy of high-level competition and a focus on long-term player growth, University og Hertfordshire Women’s Football is the ideal environment for athletes aiming to reach their full potential.
