Climbing is a growing sport in the UK, and is suitable for all. The Climbing Club, with their instructed sessions on a twelve metre high wall, cater for those who have never climbed before, to those who want to climb recreationally, as well as those who are regularly on climbing walls and are wishing to compete.
The climbing wall boasts 26 lead and top roping walls including impressive overhang, vertical and slab surfaces, bouldering area and Abseil cave plus Tufa, arétes, crack climbs and high-level stances.
The Climbing Club compete in the National University Championships managed by BUCS.
Trials and taster sessions will begin during the first week of term after fresher's week.
You must pre-register to attend these at either the Athletic Union Sports Fair or the SU Fresher’s Fair where you will be given further information.
All members must have signed up to the Club before their first fixture, whichever comes first.
Hertfordshire Sports Village's own Climbing Co-ordinator takes the Wednesday session and is on-hand to instruct beginner climbers and challenge those more experienced.
