One of the best ways to meet like-minded people, to have fun and to broaden your horizons is to join a sports club. At the University of Hertfordshire, we have 28 clubs offering a variety of sports for all abilities.
The Athletic Union (AU) is the organisation, supported by the University and the Hertfordshire Students’ Union, through which the student representative clubs and other student sporting activity is managed. Whether you are trying a sport for the first time or you are an experienced player, any University of Hertfordshire student has the opportunity to take part in Athletic Union sports clubs.
The majority of our sports clubs represent the University by competing in the British Universities & College Sport (BUCS) programme and fixtures which are played predominantly on Wednesday afternoons or weekends across the country. Some clubs will also participate in regional or national competitions outside of BUCS.
