Hertfordshire Sports Village is a busy and vibrant facility servicing students, staff and the local community. As Centre Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of our fantastic, world class, facilities. A PFI contract manages the FM, leaving you and your capable, pro-active team to deliver a welcoming service to each and every customer. Our operation is exciting and varied, from delivery of student sport, through to the planning and delivery of prestigious national and international events.

Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach/Lecturer

£28,033 - £32,321 per annum (dependent on experience) plus Performance Related Pay

Performance Hertfordshire are experienced UKSCA accredited strength and conditioning professionals based at the University of Hertfordshire.  They provide S&C support to a wide range of athletes in a multitude of sports, from grass root development to Olympic performers along with delivering on University degree modules and Nationally Accredited Course and Workshops.

Our partners, clients and athletes include: EIS, England Squash, England Golf, Arsenal Ladies, England Women’s FA, England Netball, Mavericks Netball Super League Team, TASS, University Scholars, County & Regional Swimming, Netball, Rugby, Golf amongst others.

Our vision is to be Hertfordshire’s leading Strength and Conditioning facility and service provider. To help us achieve our vision we are looking to recruit an experienced and highly qualified Senior Strength and Conditioning coach to join our team.

Our work enables athletes to optimise their performance, avoid injury, peak for major competitions, and educate them in areas such as recovery methods, nutrition and anti doping.

Working with the support of the Performance Hertfordshire Strength and Conditioning Team, Body Balance Physiotherapy and Hertfordshire Sports Village and University, the post holder will be professional, innovative and proactive in delivering a consistent service that exceeds the expectations of all athletes and clients as well as be responsible for certain areas of the business such as internships, courses and equipment.

You will need to be a knowledgeable, skilled, personable, self-motivated individual with excellent coaching, presentation and communication skills. You must be able to use your own initiative, be pro-active, work well under pressure and be able to work as part of a busy and multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in sports science or related area, specialising in physical preparation of athletes. Postgraduate degree in sports science or related area, specialising in the physical preparation of athletes and UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) Accreditation

Lifeguard/Duty Assistant

To help us achieve our vision of being Hertfordshire’s leading facility and service provider for sports, health and fitness we are looking to recruit an exceptional individual to assist with the efficient and effective day to day running of Hertfordshire Sports Village, in order to ensure the facilities are clean, safe and welcoming to all customers.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Duty Assistant with a current pool lifeguarding qualification, to join our team and make your mark on the success of Hertfordshire Sports Village by assisting with the preparation and delivery of all bookings and events poolside, dry side and outdoors. You will interact in a positive manner with all customers and complete relevant health, safety and cleanliness checks to ensure the health and safety of staff and guests and cleanliness of facilities.

This position requires the post holder to be flexible and work as part of a shift rota, which will include early morning, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications required for this position include GCSE or equivalent industry specific qualifications including Math’s and English, current and up to date NPLQ and current First Aid at Work or the ability to achieve within 3 months.

Casual Membership Consultant

£8.07 per hour - Start September

Our vision is to be Hertfordshire’s leading facility and service provider for sports, health and fitness. To help us achieve our vision we are looking to recruit an exceptional person to enhance our customer service team.

We are looking for an exceptional Membership Consultant to drive membership sales and income at Hertfordshire Sports Village.

You will need to be a personable, self-motivated and organised with excellent attention to detail. You must be able to use your own initiative, be pro-active, work well under pressure and be able to work as part of a busy and friendly marketing and sales team, however you will be expected to drive you own sales to achieve your targets. You will have a wiliness to learn and improve and must keep up to date with industry developments.

Although the primary focus will be on the sale of memberships the postholder will also be responsible for increasing the sale of kids village products, kids birthday parties and conference and meeting room sales to ensure agreed sales and income targets are achieved.

You must have GSCE grade C or above (including Maths & English) as a minimum requirement, A-Level/BTEC National Diploma or equivalent qualifications are desirable.

The University is required to meet UKVI visa regulations. Applicants who do not currently have the right to work in the UK will have to satisfy UKVI regulations before they can be appointed.

Casual Duty Assistant

£8.07 per hour

Our Duty Assistant team support the Duty Management team with the day to day running of Hertfordshire Sports Village. To be considered for this role, you must possess a current NPLQ with up to date training records and have working operational experience in a sport and leisure based facility.

You will be required to be available all year round including summer holidays, evenings and weekends. Your availability will be discussed at interview.

Group Exercise Class Instructor

from £25 per hour

Our extensive health, fitness and wellbeing programme includes classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Fight Klub, Zumba, Aqua Aerobics, Group Cycle plus many more. The Sports Village prides itself on delivering high standards of customer experience and a variety of classes within clean, safe and effective group exercise spaces.

The role of the Group Exercise Coach exists to provide fun, safe daily coaching in classes as well as supporting and engaging in the general running of the Sports Village operation. You will be part of an energetic team, encouraged to contribute and proactively deliver sessions that members cannot wait to return to.

Party Hosts

Hertfordshire Sports Village are looking for a small team of birthday party hosts to deliver high quality Bounce & Play, Swimming and various other Sports parties.

All parties are hosted at weekends and are typically 60-90 minutes long. There is a requirement to meet and greet and support with set up and preparation for the party.
