The University of Hertfordshire’s Men’s Futsal team has firmly established itself as one of the leading programmes in the UK university sport scene. Over the past six years, the team has enjoyed a meteoric rise, earning a reputation as one of the top futsal programmes in the higher education sector.
With four consecutive BUCS Premier South National League titles and four straight appearances in the BUCS National Championship Final, the team’s progress is clear to see. In 2025, Herts competed in another thrilling national final against long-standing rivals Loughborough University. In a match that showcased elite-level university Futsal, Herts narrowly missed out on the title with a close 4–3 defeat, despite a spirited and high-quality performance throughout.
The programme has also secured one BUCS National Championship title and the team remains unbeaten at their Aldenham home venue for the past four years, a testament to the team’s consistency, strength, and home support.
As a designated Performance Sport at the University of Hertfordshire, Men’s Futsal provides talented athletes with the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level while pursuing a degree of their choice. Athletes benefit from an extensive support package, including a free Health & Fitness membership, Strength & Conditioning coaching, Physiotherapy services, and the opportunity to apply for a Sports Scholarship.
