Physical activity has always been important, but when so many of us are now restricted in our movements, it is even more crucial for people of all ages and abilities to be as active as possible. Even a short break from sitting for long periods of time, by doing 3-5 minutes of physical movement such as walking or stretching can really make a difference. It will help ease muscle strain, relieve mental tension and improve blood circulation and muscle activity. Regular physical activity can give a routine to your day and can be a great way of staying in contact with family and friends if exercising together at home or virtually between different households.

We have put together some great content for a variety of different classes you can try whilst at home.

But remember, physical activity includes all forms of active recreation, from walking and cycling to activities you can do whilst working or around the home and in the garden. Even cleaning the house and carrying heavy shopping is all part of being physically active!
