The car park resurfacing has approached the point of laying the tarmac in one half. This process is going to take a couple of days, therefore the car park will be very busy. Please allow plenty of time for your journey to us in order to find a car parking space ahead of your booked activity. Thank you for your cooperation as always!
Hertfordshire Sports Village Swimming Pool is minutes from Hatfield Galleria, Welwyn Garden City and St Albans.
My son enjoyed his first lesson; it was a really small group of 5 children so he had a lot of time with the teacher. He was jumping in by the end with no arm bands which he’s never done before.

Built into the programme are lessons in valuable survival, rescue and sports skills - all delivered in an exciting way that will get children involved and motivated. We are really excited to present HomePortal, your new reporting & progress tool for your lessons! This new tool will allow to track your child(rens) progress through their staged swimming lessons; almost in real time – you can track results as we assess. It will also allow you to view how many sessions you have left, manage and move lessons and re-enrol and make payments. You will first need to register to enable your HomePortal account. Our team can help you with this if you get stuck, but here are the instructions:
You will need your ID which should be your membership number, or your key fob number if you have one. Please report to reception to collect your child’s personal ID – you will need one per child.

Please try to ensure that your child is ready to swim 5 minutes before their swimming lesson, having used the toilet etc, so that the teacher only has to explain the aims of the lesson or activity once, to everybody.
It would greatly assist us and help with the Health and Safety requirements around poolside if you could come no further than the exit to the changing rooms after the first week. We have ample space on the balcony and in the café for you watch the children and it makes things so much easier for the teachers.
To further facilitate this the teachers will explain, during the first lesson of term for each class, where to wait for their lesson on poolside once the carer's have dropped them poolside.
If you have booked onto a swim crash course and can no longer attend, we require a minimum of 7 days notice in writing for a full refund. If your request to cancel the course is under 7 days, we will not be able to issue a refund.
We require the children to wear hats (colour coded by Stage to the colours of the Rainbow). The first hat at each Stage is included in the cost. Replacements are available at a cost of £2.00 each.
If possible try to get the children to come to lessons without goggles. If they do have to wear goggles for eye health reasons, please ask the supplier to let you try them first so that a correct fit can be found. Goggles should stay in place around the eyes, albeit briefly, without the straps in place if pressed gently to the eye and they are the correct size and shape. Again, once on, impress on your child the need to leave them in place during the lesson. ‘Goggle fiddlers’ are a key cause of lost time during lessons.
Please be aware that there are other users of the centre and pool as well as our Learn to Swim pupils. All belongings should be locked in one of the available lockers before moving poolside. The lockers accept £1 coins, returned on opening the locker after the lesson, and this keeps the changing facilities clear for other users. The male change is the biggest area of concern.
Come and have a look around our state of the art facilities at Hertfordshire Sports Village, with the opportunity to try them too.
Complete the form above and we'll be in touch or call 01707 284466 to speak to one of our team.
