Kids Village FAQ

Kids Village – Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a booking?

You can either book online or give our Customer Service Team a call on 01707 284466.

What are my payment options?

There are various ways to pay for your Kids Village activities. You can pay via, cash at Reception, credit/debit card or childcare vouchers. All sessions must be paid for in full at the time of booking unless paying by Childcare Vouchers. We regret that we cannot take childcare Voucher payments for sessions booked online. If wishing to pay by Childcare Vouchers we ask that you follow our Childcare Voucher Payment Policy.

What are Childcare Vouchers?

Childcare Vouchers are a tax-free employee benefit that companies can offer their staff. Employees can sign up to the scheme with their employer and Vouchers can then be used to pay for activities with organisations/individuals that are registered with Ofsted to provide childcare.

Which Childcare Vouchers do you accept at HSV?

We are registered with many Childcare Voucher Providers (see below) but can always register with new providers if necessary.

Where should I drop my child off?

When you arrive at the Sports Village, see a member of our Customer Service Team who can point you in the right direction.

Are you Ofsted registered?

Yes, we are on the Voluntary Ofsted register. Our Registration number is EY452771.

What should my child bring with them?

All children should wear comfortable clothing suitable for physical activity. A swimming costume or trunks and a towel will be required if your child intends to swim. During the warmer months, children may spend some time outside so a jacket or coat should also be available to them. We suggest in the summer that children wear sun cream and bring a hat with them to protect them from the sun when outside. Children may reapply sun cream themselves throughout the day if necessary. Long hair should be tied back, and jewellery removed. Children will need plenty of water to drink as well as snacks and a healthy lunch. Water bottles can be refilled throughout the day as required.

What kind of activities will my child be doing?

We like to offer a broad range of games and activities on our camps. These vary from swimming, climbing, archery, inflatable fun and battle zone games to card games, playground games and quizzes. A full programme will be available on our website.

Where will children change for swimming?

Children swimming as part of the Multi Activity Day will be given exclusive use of our poolside group changing facilities. Separated into male and female groups, changing is supervised by two members of staff per changing area.

Will there be anyone in the water with the children during the swimming session?

As well as life guards and a member of Apex staff on pool side, we will also have a qualified swimming teacher in the water to assist with any nervous or less-competent swimmers.

Are staff First Aid trained?

All Apex staff are First Aid trained but our highly qualified Sports Village Staff take the lead with most first aid incidents to allow the coaches to manage the rest of the group.

My child requires medication during their session, is this ok?

This is fine; all we ask is that a Medicine Consent Form is completed at the beginning of the day outlining medication details, dosage and timings. Any medications must be in the original container and have a full pharmacy label visible.

My child’s age falls outside of the minimum/maximum age bracket, can they still attend?

The age range of our sessions are set to ensure everyone in attendance is safe and has an enjoyable time. We cannot unfortunately accept children outside of the age range stated for this reason.
