This four-session programme is designed to give you the skills, structure and confidence you need to train effectively; while offering a taste of personal training.

Why Start Strong?

Start Strong is a four-session program that teaches the fundamentals of fitness, builds a solid foundation and helps you feel at home in the gym. Giving you the ongoing knowledge to achieve your goals while ensuring you are making the most efficient use of your precious gym time.

You’ll learn correct free weight techniques, understand how to train at different conditioning intensities and finish with a personalised training programme including a final Personal Trainer-led session to show you how to train with confidence.

Who is Start Strong for?

Strength Foundations Personal Training

Session 1 Strength Foundations

You’ll learn proper free weight technique gaining the skills to train safely and effectively while building a strong foundation in strength training. Learn correct technique for squat, hinge, push and pull movements and understand how to progress safely.

Conditioning Cardio Personal Trainer

Session 2 Conditioning
& Cardio


All about improving your fitness and stamina through a mix of aerobic and anaerobic conditioning exercises. You’ll be guided through new cardio techniques while learning how to structure to maximise your workouts. Learn how to train at different intensities and understand heart rate zones.

Gym

Session 3 Personalised Programme Design

You and your coach will create a personalised training programme tailored to your goals, so you’ll leave with a clear, actionable plan that suits your fitness objectives.

Personal Training Experience

Session 4 Personal Training Experience

You’ll get a dedicated one-to-one experience with a Personal Trainer, based on the personalised plan created in the previous session. You’ll leave having had a great workout and the confidence to train independently.

Start Strong FAQs

Do I get a training programme?
Yes. You’ll receive a personalised programme on HSV Health & Fitness Tracker within your third session.

Is Start Strong suitable if I have injuries?
Yes. Your trainer will tailor sessions around any injuries or limitations. If an injury is severe or complex, there may be some limitations to what we can safely offer and we may recommend seeking medical guidance first.

Do I need to be fit before starting?
No. Start Strong is designed to meet you at your current fitness level.

Will I be able to train on my own after?
Yes. The goal is to give you the knowledge and confidence to train independently.

What equipment will I use?
A mix of free weights, cardio machines and functional conditioning equipment.

How long are the sessions?
Each session lasts 60 minutes.

How long do I have to complete the four sessions?
The four sessions must be completed within eight weeks. If health circumstances or specific cases arise, this timeline can be adjusted to suit your needs.

Do I need to continue with personal training after?
No. Start Strong is designed as a standalone programme that gives you the knowledge and confidence to train independently. However, if you enjoy the coaching and feel you’d benefit from ongoing support, personal training is available as an optional next step.

How do I book Start Strong?
You can purchase the Start Strong package through your online account. Once purchased, sessions can be booked by speaking to the gym team in person or by contacting us via email.
