About us

The Hertfordshire Sports Village (HSV) forms part of the University of Hertfordshire and is home to a wide range of sports facilities and services for the local community, as well as students and staff from the University. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and welcoming place to work, where people from all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences are valued.

We are also home to Performance Herts – providing world class strength and conditioning services and support for talented athletes to reach their full potential. Performance Herts brings an exciting energy to HSV, supporting elite athletes from a wide range of sports while inspiring and learning from them every day. In 2021, HSV was recognised in the Best Companies Awards as one of the country’s top small organisations to work for. We were placed 20th in Leisure & Hospitality’s Best Companies to Work For, the only sporting leisure business in the UK to reach the top 20, as well as 50th in the East of England and 71st in the UK’s Best Small Companies to Work For. More recently we have been recognised within our industry for the exceptional customer service we offer, achieving ‘Most improved Operator’ (2024) and progressing on to ‘Club of the Year’ (2025), based on direct feedback from our customers through Net Promoter Scores (NPS).
