At higher levels of NICAS, children are introduced to lead climbing falls in a controlled and safe way. This only happens once they have built the skills, awareness, and confidence needed at Level 4 and above. Learning how to fall safely helps young climbers stay calm, trust the equipment, and develop good habits for more advanced climbing—always under close supervision from qualified instructors.
February Half-Term
Monday 16 February 1pm - 3pm
Dynamic movement is when children use quick, controlled bursts of energy to reach the next hold while climbing. NICAS introduces this skill gradually, helping young climbers learn how to move with confidence, coordination, and safety. It’s a fun way for them to explore their agility, react to the wall, and enjoy a more playful style of climbing as they develop. For children currently working at NICAS Level 2–4 only.
February Half-Term
Tuesday 17 February 1pm - 3pm
Good footwork helps them balance, save energy, and feel more secure on the wall. As they progress, they learn to place their feet carefully and climb with more control, helping them grow in confidence and ability. For children currently working at NICAS Level 2–4 only.
February Half-Term
Wednesday 18 February 1pm - 3pm
Helps children learn how to move confidently and smoothly on the climbing wall. As they progress through the levels, they are introduced to fun and natural movement skills that make climbing feel easier, safer, and more enjoyable. For children currently working at NICAS Level 2–4 only.
