Are you looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within university sport, events, and student engagement? HertSquad is looking for a voluntary student placement assistant to support the delivery of our HertSquad programme, including our Active, Compete, and Represent programmes, across the academic year.
This 80-hour voluntary placement opportunity will provide you with the chance to develop valuable skills while supporting the delivery of a wide range of student sport opportunities. You will work alongside the HertSquad team, sports clubs, and Student Activators to help create positive experiences and increase engagement in sport and physical activity across the University.
What You'll Be Doing
The role will involve supporting a variety of areas, including but not limited to:

Supporting the delivery of HertSquad events, activities, and student engagement opportunities

Working alongside Student Activators to support the delivery of Active programme sessions and initiatives

Assisting with BUCS and recreational fixtures

Supporting promotion and communications across student channels and social media

Helping with kit and equipment management

Supporting sports clubs with operational tasks

Collecting student insight, feedback, and experiences to help evaluate programmes, understand student needs, and shape future opportunities

Assisting with general administration and programme delivery
This is a flexible opportunity designed to fit alongside your studies, with hours spread across the academic year depending on programme needs and your availability.

Application Process
