Max is the Head of Strength & Conditioning at Performance Herts. With a strong multi-sport background, Max leads on the TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) delivery in addition to overseeing delivery of the HTAP (Hertfordshire Talented Athlete Programme) and Performance Sport programmes. Previous work at Oxford Brookes University, Google and the UK Sports Institute has provided Max with an adaptable coaching skillset. With a specific background in Rowing S&C provision, Max currently works with athletes ranging from Snowsports, Gymnastics, Para-Sport and the general population. This strong multi-sport background enables Max to quickly and effectively adapt Strength & Conditioning principles to suit an individual and their sport. Max also leads on the delivery of the Strength & Conditioning module on the MSc in Strength & Conditioning and Rehabilitation delivered by the Institute of Sport.
Previously competing in Swimming and American Football, Max now trains for open water swimming to support his hobby of surfing. In addition to spending time in the water, Max also enjoys hiking and recently completed the Welsh 3000’s hiking challenge. He is setting his sights on further hiking challenges in the UK.
