Essential maintenance work that will be taking place to our swimming pool between Tuesday 11 and Thursday 20 August.
The work involves replacing part of the hydraulic system that controls our moveable pool floor. This is an important investment in the long-term reliability of the facility and has been scheduled during the summer holiday period to minimise disruption.
What this means for you
- From Tuesday 11 – Wednesday 19 August, the pool will remain partially open, with one section of the pool available while work is carried out on the other.
- On Thursday 20 August, the entire pool will be closed while the final connections, testing and commissioning of the new hydraulic system take place.
- We expect the pool to reopen as normal on Friday 21 August, following completion and handover of the works.
During these works lane length will be reduced down to 17 metres at all times. However, this temporary arrangement allows us to keep the pool open for as much of the maintenance period as possible while these essential improvements are completed.
Temporary booking system
To help provide the best possible customer experience while pool capacity is reduced, we'll be operating a temporary online booking system for public swimming sessions during the maintenance period. This will help us manage capacity safely and ensure everyone knows which sessions are available before travelling to the Sports Village.

How to book
1. Log in to your account: HERE
2. Under "Make a Booking", select "Activity Sessions"
3. Select the date you would like to book your swim session using the 'From Date' and 'To Date' selector
4. Under 'Activity' using the drop down to select 'Swimming' and click on 'Filter'
5. Select 'Book' under the option you would like to book
6. Select the time you would like to swim. Your slot duration is for 60 minutes and you will be able to see capacity during each slot
7. OPTIONAL - add any guests attending
8. Select 'Continue'
9. Select 'Proceed to Payment' to confirm your booking (if swimming is included in your membership, the cost will be £0)
