Performance Herts offer a range of courses and workshops taught by UKSCA accredited coaches who train an array of athletes up to Olympic level.

These workshops and courses are taught in small groups by expert coaches in the field who work with athletes from; England Squash, England Golf, England Netball, Women’s FA, Arsenal Women’s FC, Saracens Mavericks, English Institute of Sport to name just a few.

Strength & Conditioning Level 1 Workshop

Strength & Conditioning Level 1 Workshop

The Strength and Conditioning Level 1 course is designed as an introduction to strength and conditioning. Over 1 day, you’ll be taught the foundational scientific knowledge and practical skills needed to be a strength and conditioning coach.

Who is the course designed for?

Athletes, sports coaches, PE teachers, physiotherapists, sports degree students, personal trainers, as well as aspiring strength and conditioning coaches.

Course content:

  • Learn how to perform functional movement screens to identify key strengths and weaknesses in your athletes.
  • Conduct sports needs analysis, providing you with the skillset to identify the key biomechanical, physiological and injuries of your chosen sport.
  • Understand and practice the fundamental strength movements, which form most athlete’s programs.
  • Overview of the basic’s principles of programming in order to create effective programs.

Strength & Conditioning Level 2 Workshop

Strength & Conditioning Level 2 Workshop

The Strength and Conditioning Level 2 provides learners with the knowledge required to build and lead well-constructed strength and conditioning programmes. This 1-day workshop will enable successful workshop attendees to prepare fully for their UKSCA accreditation and to seek employment as an S&C coach in a number of settings such as sports clubs, schools or with athletes/teams.

Who is the course designed for?

  • Athletes, sports coaches, PE teachers, physiotherapists, sports degree students, personal trainers, aspiring strength and conditioning coaches.
  • Pre-requisite: S&C Level 1 Workshop.

Course content:

  • Learn the scientific principles of hypertrophy, strength and power in the athletic population.
  • Construct and conduct fitness testing based upon the sport and individual athlete
  • Learn how to design and evaluate periodised strength and conditioning programs and sessions.
  • Understand how to develop power in athletic populations, both theoretically and through practical exercises.
  • Practice and learn advanced training methods.
